Omzetverwachting Wii U verlaagd

Nintendo heeft besloten op de omzetverwachting van de Wii U voor komend jaar te verlagen, Nintendo kwam tot dit besluit naar aanleiding van de tegenvallende verkoopcijfers van de Wii U. Deze mededeling bracht de spelcomputerfabrikant naar buiten bij de presentatie van de cijfers van het derde kwartaal.

In november 2012 werd de Wii U gelanceerd en vanaf dat moment zijn er 3,06 miljoen exemplaren verkocht. De software is 11,69 miljoen keer verkocht. Nintendo zette lange tijd in op goede verkoopcijfers van de Nintendo Wii U, de opvolger van zes jaar oudere broer Nintendo Wii. Met de smartphones en tablets hebben de spelcomputers er nieuwe concurrenten bij.
